Has anyone purchased the Jumpstart PC programs for their kids?
I used them when I was a child. This was in the 90's, but from what I understand, the programs haven't changed very much. They were wonderful for me. I always had the program intended for children 1 to 2 grades ahead of me. I wasn't learning much or being challenged at all in the regular classroom, so I played these games at home almost every night to get the stimulation I was lacking. They were a lot of fun and taught me a lot of useful things when I was actually ready to learn them and not a year or two later.
Yes, they are one of the ones I recommend. I've used toddler on up and have always been impressed. One thing I like about them is that the level changes either easier or harder without the child really knowing it. So after so many errors or so many correct answers it will change for that specific activity. The children in my care have loved the JumpStart CD's.
I have jumpstart kindergarden, 1st and 2nd grade. They are great! My 7 year old daughter loves them and they have helped improve her math and reading skills. Hope that helps.
I'm 16 and I still play the Jumstart 1st Grade Classic. I love it.
