UK question re CRB checks?

Do I need a CRB check when providing a course for children to do with their parents by correspondence...or with the parents checking the work.





The children are over 8 and under 18.





I will not be teaching the children myself only have provided the work. The course is complementary medicine and botany

Yes, you will probably need to be CRB checked. You may not be in the physical proximity of these children but you will have access to the details where they live & what school they attend - you will have access to data about children that others would consider extremely valuable & you'll also need to ensure that you keep it secured, make sure you keep it in a lockable drawer & away from 'public' areas in your house/work place.

i know you need an enhanced check if you are training or coming in contact with children or vulnerable adults. i suppose it depends whether in any part of your role you will have contact, if you do i guess you would need to go thought the crb route
