Not bragging or anything. In high school I had a 3.2 GPA when it came time for college admissions and a 1980 SAT score on the first try without studying. I was rejected from UGA and NYU because my GPA was so low, although I went to a magnet school with all honors classes.
I ended up going to a university in the same city which was a 4 year university with a small name. As a result of me having a 4.0 GPA there and doing things like red cross volunteer, leadership position in clubs and getting involved with various activities like school newspaper and everything.
I was turned down by Penn (odd) yet accepted into Columbia, Cornell, UGA, Georgia Tech, UConn, and Washington U in St Louis as a transfer student. I was waitlisted and then eventually accepted at Georgetown. Currently attending Columbia University, applied to all as a junior transfer.
Am I a rare case or are there other students out there like me who have done things like this before?

Both, it is technically a two year program, but they require some pre-reqs that they often do not offer. Most of the time you will go to a local college and get these out of the way, they have regular students that do this and are used to it, then enroll in the program at the vocational school. But if you can find one of these programs at a community college you can do all of your coursework there. Depending on how high your math ACT is, you can generally get the pre-reqs dome in one semester, but sometimes it is two if your math was lower or if that school has more requirements.

I am writing to my housing association to ask for a transfer from a two bed, 2nd floor flat (in their 1st set of new builds) to a house (in their 2nd set of new builds). They do not usually do transfers but have just finished another set of newly build houses.

As soon as I found out I reapplied via the council for an extra room but I have been put in Band 4 with a two bedroom requirement.
I have recently become aware that LHA ASRA group is currently building houses in St Marys Road and if possible I would like a transfer to a three bedroom house there. I have currently bided on a two bedroom house on this road using UChooseHomes as I am unable to bid on three bedroom properties.
My needs for three bedrooms are listed below:
One for me and my partner
One for Jamie (due 02/10/2010)
One for the individuals to use while I am caring for them (for overnight stays and respite periods). I have a copy of the letter, from Bedworth CMHT regarding my need for the extra room, which I provided to the council in the summer of 2009.
In addition to needing three bedrooms I also need for ground floor or house because the persons I care for have anxiety related problems and the entrance to my current residence causes problems due to having to walk past peoples window, front doors and occasionally people in the corridors. Added to this is the fact that I am nervous about being on the second floor with a young child do to potential risk of falls and such like.
I am happy living in Bedworth but living in Nuneaton will mean I am nearer to Jodrell Court and therefore can recommence caring for my older brother who lives there. I am also the carer for my mother who lives in Bedworth although she receives direct payments and my main carer role is to care for my younger brother who is autistic and is in full time education in Nuneaton. My partners mother live in the facility of Nuneaton and she will be providing child care while I fulfil my caring role.

Get dressed- 6:15am (yes I take long showers)
Blow dry hair- 6:20am
Brush hair/straighten it- 6:30am

Eat breakfast- 6:45am
Watch tv/ computer (check emails/check facebook) -However much time I have

I fight back when she tries to wake me up. I need ideas on how to go to sleep earlier and wake up earlier. When my well-meaning friends ask, So Emma, what are you doing this summer? and I respond, Going to Idaho for a family reunion!, my words are met with looks of confusion, feigned interest, and occasionally sympathy. Few of my classmates know that my family reunions make Burning Man and Woodstock look like staff meetings. While other families reunion activities might include crafts and storytelling, our family fills the daily schedule with more entertaining activities. The highlights include wrestling matches on top of inflatable rafts attached to a boat going 35 miles per hour, scavenger hunts where points are given for re-enacting fight scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean or The Goonies in public, pyromania in any form, and drama to rival Mexican telenovelas. The younger children are given slightly safer activities. In fact, all Wrenn children are raised to believe that, just like Santa Claus comes to bring you presents on Christmas, Priest Lake is infested with pirates who have hidden treasure along the shore. This tradition alone should tell you everything you need to know about my family. Each year they find clues carefully placed by their pirate cousins. I once helped to sink and recover a forty pound, wooden treasure chest filled with fake doubloons and pirate toys in about ten-foot deep water.
