Depositing at one college if your on the wait list for another?

if you get put on the wait list at your first choice college and are told you will not hear back from them until after the May 1st deadline are you able to make a deposit at your second choice school so if you don't get in from the wait list you will have a place to go next year?

You definitely can do that and SHOULD do that, colleges are limited their spaces due to the economic breakdown right now. So, it's in your best interest to do so. However, the only thing about deposits is you often do not get them back.

Is it deposit or application fee? Those are two different things. What deposit is it for? Housing or Tuition? There shouldn't be any fees you are to pay but the application fee right now and those you always lose them if you choose not to go or don't get selected.
