What is college life really like?

I'm about to go to a small college and would appreciate some tips on how to adjust from high school. I'm unsure if I want to live in a Co-ed hall and I don't know how to get along with a roommate (only child here) help? What was it like for you?

In my opinion college was not to much different from high school. Some major differences is that some professors don't care if you pass or fail. Another is dorm life takes a while to adjust to. The last is that your parents will not be around to take care of you.

You should try co-ed living, for a couple of months . However, you should also keep in mind your other options, just in case that is something you are not comfortable with.

As far as roommates goes, every situation is different.

Some general tips are never be roommates with a friend from high school. Set clear rules, write them out, and sign that you both agree to live by them. For example that you both have to wash dishes together.

When a conflict arises try to settle it on your own, if that doesn't work then talk to your RA.

Also, avoid getting on their case about their small but annoying habits. Other wise you'll have a lot of different roommates.

As I stated before, every situation is different. I've had great roommates, and of course those who were just a pain. Living with someone else, is a great learning experience. The trick is to be patient, and keep an open mind.

I recommend using www.fastwebs.com because it has a lot of information on just about every aspect of college.

College life is quite different from high school life. Here, you are to live, study independently especially now that you will be away from home. You have to adjust with your roommates, you need to arrange your own bed, wash your clothes, clean the room, prepare your foods, etc. You should be able to behave and cooperate with everybody in order to maintain harmonious relationship. You also have to develop good study habit and do lot of researches and reporting for different topics and projects.

defintely live in a co-ed, college is where you make your long life friends, don't worry, everyone else is also nervous just like you, and are worried they won't adjust to college life, but over time, you will be used to college life, just give it a about two months, since everything is new to you, and then later everything is old

College was the best time of my life... I loved it. Don't worry, everyone else will be in the same boat as you.
