Well I'm in my freshman year and I intend on starting a poetry club next year (sophmore year). Or restarting it because it used to be a club at my school, but then all of the seniors that were in it graduated or something. So I want to start up the club again and maybe renovate it I guess you could say. Like I have a lot of ideas, but I was just wondering how this would look on a college application or something.

it should do for you all that you mentioned; the college app, the fear of speaking publicly, everything....with colleges, they like to know what extracurricular activities you participated in. ..it's always a plus to belong to a school club, it's a triple plus if you're the one who founded the club.
as the founder, your position of leadership will force speaking as a habit and duty, with your members and with the public. it's much easier to speak publicly when you already have something to say that you feel is important to you, and therefore, important to get out to others to hear.
Well PROS would be ..YOU STARTED THE CLUB....... also if it was successful it could be something to add on your college resume...... . CONS would be no one would join and you would have wasted some time and look stupid. But i would do it because the PROS out way the CONS to me.
