Ok, so here's the deal: I fooled around this quarter, getting low test scores from not studying, and I "may" get a D in AP economics.
I'm worried because I really need that credit to graduate, plus I need to keep my GPA up for a scholarship.
Questions:
1. Which matters more, the quarter grade, or the semester grade?
Because if I do get a D this quarter, but an A next quarter....
2. Could the credits I get from the AP exam also count as high school credits? Or is it "only" college credits?
Though one thing is certain: I'm definitely going to be pulling myself up next quarter
Ok you are in high school taking AP Economics.
Taking the AP exam in May does not give you any high school credits. And don't count on it giving you college credits. First you have to score a 4/5 on the test. Then not all colleges accept all AP's for credit. You need to check out the college's web site to see if they even take AP Economics, what score is needed, and credit is offered for it.
At our HS it is the final grade at the end of the semester that is counted for your GPA
talk to your teacher. Ask if you can do any extra credit projects, and if she would allow you to use your ap test as an extra credit or an extra test with the same weight as the previous tests to pull up your score. Be open and willing to work hard, and then do it!
